Hi, my name is Melanie Dupres. I’m a homeopath, and yoga teacher, and I’m very interested in nutrition. I studied and worked in practice in the UK.
I’ve had a long history in natural medicine. My juicing story, however, is more specific and about my skin issue. I suffered from eczema for many years.
Incorporating juicing into my life and diet helped me to overcome my skin problem. Most diseases actually begin in the gut. Juicing helped me, and I want to help others.
Juicing can be done in different ways. You can do a one-day juice detox or a three-day juice detox. The reasons why people juice may vary, but one thing that juicing has in common with everyone is that it helps to restart the digestive system.
It gives the body a break from carbs, overeating of sugar, and protein. Some people have an issue with juicing because they say it lacks fiber, but if you juice in an intense juicing program, you’re actually flooding the body with minerals and vitamins. You couldn’t eat that many raw vegetables or even cooked vegetables in an amount that nourishes the body in the same way.
Let me just share with you 3 simple juice recipes that you can put in your blender and receive a healthy boost.
Recipe 1: Carrot-Green Pepper Zing
2 carrots
1 green pepper
1 zucchini
A handful of parsley
1 teaspoon of turmeric powder
We hear a lot about turmeric these days because of its anti-inflammatory properties. I include parsley because it is very good at detoxifying heavy metals from the body. Green pepper is a good source of vitamin C, and carrots are a very good source of beta- carotene. Zucchini adds a lovely green touch to the mix.
Recipe 2: Celery-Ginger Green Goodness
2 stalks of celery
1-inch piece of ginger root
1 lemon (peeled)
1 bokchoy
1 green apple
This juice is very detoxifying and high in minerals due to the celery. It’s calming for the digestive system because of the ginger. The lemon is very good for detoxifying the liver. Bok choy is also a good vegetable, a leafy green high in minerals. Apple not only provides a good source of vitamins but also adds a lovely taste.
Recipe 3: Beetroot-Lime Vitality
1 beetroot
1 cup of broccoli florets
1 lime (peeled)
1 cup of romaine lettuce
Beetroot is excellent for detoxifying the blood. Broccoli is a very good vegetable that can have anti-cancer properties. Lime is alkalizing, and romaine lettuce is again a good source of minerals and vitamins.
I have introduced you to three delicious and nutritious juices that will provide you with essential nutrients and minerals. Give them a try and experience the benefits of juicing firsthand.
In conclusion, juicing can be a healthy and delicious way to boost your nutrient intake, with specific ingredients providing various health benefits. However, it’s important to remember that a well-rounded diet and lifestyle are still key to optimal health. Incorporating these juices into your diet could be a great step toward improving your overall health and well-being.
