My career in Human Resources is more than just a job—it’s a tribute to my family and the lessons passed down by my grandmother. Though I grew up in a stable family in Argentina, my grandmother’s story of hard work and determination began in the small town of Villa San Roque, Catamarca.
In March 1953, at just 21 years old, my grandmother made the bold decision to leave her familiar home and move to Comodoro Rivadavia, a city in Chubut, located in the vast region of Patagonia. She lived with her uncle at the YPF El Trebol oil camp, where life was challenging and unfamiliar. Despite these hardships, her strength shone through early on. She found work on a farm, and although the conditions were tough, she quickly adapted, displaying the resilience that would define her life.
Within a year, her natural ability to connect with people helped her secure a job with Engineer Perez Hernandez’s family. It was here that her interpersonal skills truly began to flourish, and she started helping others find work.
In 1954, she met her future husband at a local basketball game, and they married in April 1955. As she embraced this new chapter of her life, her passion for helping others only deepened. She actively sought out job opportunities not only for her family but also for her neighbors from Catamarca, making it her mission to connect them with local businesses in Comodoro Rivadavia.
As more family members relocated to the city, my grandmother became the person everyone turned to for help finding work. She built strong relationships with the staff at Y.P.F. (Fiscal Oilfields), and used these connections to assist many people, including her siblings. Her home became a sanctuary for newcomers—a place where she ensured everyone had the support and food they needed.
Though terms like “headhunter” or “human resources professional” weren’t common back then, that’s exactly what my grandmother was. She had a unique gift for recognizing people’s potential and matching them with the right jobs. Her efforts changed many lives, providing stability and success for those she helped.
Inspired by my grandmother’s example, I pursued a career in Human Resources, motivated by the same desire to guide others in finding their path. Today, as a headhunter at a US Company, I help people discover meaningful careers, just as my grandmother did. I continue to touch the lives of countless employees through my work in HR. From assisting new hires in settling into their roles to fostering a supportive and inclusive work environment, my unwavering dedication to my craft is a testament to the profound impact that a single relationship can have on one’s life journey.
With a network of over 14,000 IT professionals, I focus on finding the right matches and helping people grow in their careers. Every connection I make reflects the values my grandmother taught me—kindness, dedication, and the desire to help others. My story is a beautiful reminder that personal connections and experiences can shape our professional paths in extraordinary ways. In my case, the cherished bond with my grandmother became the guiding light that led me to a fulfilling career focused on uplifting others and making a lasting difference in their lives.
Every day, I try to honor her legacy. For me, helping others is not just a job—it’s a way of life. My work in Human Resources is rooted in the love, inspiration, and purpose she showed. Through her example, I’ve learned that the relationships we build and the opportunities we create for others can have a lasting effect, just as her efforts did for so many.
